the
sky changes colors often
depending
on approaching weather
some
people alter their hues
like
chameleons in nature
but
there are things and people
who
never shift like ocean waves
staying
locked in their place
as
unmovable mountain peaks
for
good and for bad
I like those altered hues. I am not one who changes easily. More of a crocodile than a chameleon, perhaps. ;)
ReplyDeleteChanging human nature is probably not possible past 25-30...
ReplyDeleteYet even mountain peaks change a tiny bit, as they are eroded by wind and water. And yet, such little change might just as well be no change at all. Nice take on the prompt.
ReplyDeleteSome are good with changes; others are not. I like that image of the unmovable mountain peaks.
ReplyDeletechange is a constant - even the most seemingly unmovable are constantly shifting, changing, falling away from one part, building to another -
ReplyDeletewhether mountain or human body ...
but it's the perception of personality and characteristics, especially in human nature, that seems to be crushingly, stubbornly, so often, unchanging -
interesting 44 - with a certain twist to it that just seems to play on the idea of both sides of a coin.
It is always good to have solid foundations that don't change all that much. Then there is the others side that allows change to make life exciting! Well done!
ReplyDeleteI like your description of variability in change and how people don't all change at the same pace.
ReplyDeleteI like your perspective on change...well done.
ReplyDeleteI like the contrast between things that change and things that don't. It really makes you wonder which is better.
ReplyDeleteThe key is to hold, unchanged, onto sound moral values and leave one's self open to the change that comes with life experiences. Evocative write.
ReplyDeleteYou describe the changes so vividly here! Beautifully rendered.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for your kind words.
ReplyDeleteOh I think the people standing still will be worn down by erosion
