banish

the feelings were too great
and yet at any rate
I banish
the desire I had within
I knew it’s a sin
to covet
what I simply can’t have
but my skin just won’t
stop burning

a postcard to the beyond

I wish you were here
watching the flowers rise
from the garden we planted

maybe you are here
whispering words through
the breeze telling me to go on

but how can I with this
void inside my heart
I just wish you were here

little wave

I saw him walking
he gave me a little wave
I waved back at him

he seemed so happy
perhaps due to the warm sun
it has that magic

just a little wave
enough to push blues away
and warm my cold heart

sevenling: predictions

things we find predictable:
using heat in winter, taxes going up,
a child’s joy on Christmas morning

things we find unpredictable:
the weather, winning lottery numbers,
the end of a love affair

but it all makes life a bit interesting

you were once

you were once my home
my peaceful sanctuary
I believed in you and me

but things slowly changed
soon the blooming flowers
did not look the same

across the seas I drifted
to find my new home
far from your cold arms

in foreign lands among
strange tongues my heart
is now beating once more

but under midnight stars
I still think of you and me
and how we used to be

not so lucky

with smooth words and poetic lines
he tried his best to woo her
and ace her heart thinking this time
he finally had the lucky number
but she was too shrewd and
perhaps even a bit too skeptical
to believe his words were true

Pollock

my mind at times resemble
a Jackson Pollock painting
a mangle of lines crisscrossing
across a vast canvas
not appearing to have a pattern

but if one looks closely
you will see there is a method
to my mental madness
those jagged lines and colors
will all make perfect sense

the worst thing and best thing

she thought losing him
was the worst thing
to happen to her –
the last chance at love

but the stars had other plans
for it was the best thing
to happen to her –
leading her to true love
