we dance around

we dance around the
pink elephant in the room
trying our best to avoid
the sharp edges that threaten
to pierce our boundaries

we both know what needs
to be said but our lips
stay sealed as our voices
linger silently in our throats

  6. What an original way to describe life, Maria! I know that feeling of lips staying sealed and voice lingering silently in my throat.
