spice of life

my high school English teacher
used to say that variety is
the spice of life
perhaps in a way it is true
for one can become bored
with the same old flavors
but sometimes that
familiar seasoning is what
helps keep the insanity away

- Dedicated to my high school English teacher, the late Mr. Leroy Washington

  6. I agree and I like this engagement with what a teacher said ... years ago maybe, but it stuck and was considered more than once

  9. Familiarity cannot be underestimated....it keeps us grounded and secure, but from there we can venture out to new horizons.
