it's been four months
since I last saw you
funny how times fly
when mending a heart
that appeared so broken
and I did not think
I would reach this point
when I would not think
about you every day
but it seems that time
healed wounds and faded
once cherished memories
Indeed those memories fade away ~
ReplyDeletetime does heal and it can clean out out memories as well--sometimes with just a breath of wind--I liked this!
ReplyDeleteThis is so moving.. hopefully time will heal our wounds.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read this I heard on the radio about phantom pains, which is very much the same as you describe. Parting with someone is like losing a limb.
ReplyDeleteWhether through death or separation, healing slowly takes place. And yes, it's amazing that eventually, life does go on!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything already said, that life goes and the bruises fade - but we never forget.
ReplyDeleteThe world does move on - sadly.. perhaps we accept just as much as we may feel like we have forgotten?
ReplyDeleteWhen hearts are broken, it is hard to imagine that they will mend with time. Somehow they do.
ReplyDeleteIt does happen, thankfully.
ReplyDeleteHumans are so resilient, in the end.
Thank you Jae, Mish and Susan :)
ReplyDeleteI love the hope in this!

DeleteThank you
DeleteWhen my wife and I separated, I thought nothing would heal that brokenness. Took a little more than time. With time, I only had myself. I'm so grateful for my friends and family now.
