embrace
your embrace
soft and warm
melted my heart
drove away tears
I discovered love

nest
chirping birds
her morning song
they flew away
leaving her heart
a vacant nest

fixed
many
have their eyes
fixed on the calendar
wondering when life
will return to normal,
to boring daily routines
many took for granted
I try not to obsess on
such dates – in reality,
life is always fluid –
you just have to follow
the currents

I sit
I sit
and wait
the clock
doesn’t move
I’m stuck
In place
just waiting
to move
but time
blocks out
my calls

hope
with hope
I step outside
the box they placed me in
I fly towards clouds, pass moon and stars
I soar

this poem was to be...
this poem
was going to be
about a boy
who stole
my heart away
I couldn’t get
the words
to flow right
making them
pop off the page
instead I write
these short lines
hoping the words
bloom into
something nice
