my dream garden
holds many flowers
in vibrant hues –
roses, tulips, lilies,
azaleas, violets
it also holds seeds
of hope, love, wealth,
happiness, peace
each watered by nature’s
rain or human tears
some bloom, few wither,
others never take hold
but that is life
- Written for dVerse Quadrille: How Does Your Garden Grow?
Such a beautifully written poem. You evocatively describe the turns of life very well throughout hope and adversity. Very personal and raw, I enjoyed reading your take on the prompt! It's well done.
ReplyDeleteI like how you compare those flowers to the qualities that make our lives worthwhile. And then the reality of those seeds that never take hold. A great study of life.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lucy and Victoria
