I
have seen girls tinsel their hair
in blues, pinks and purples
I wonder what dyes were mixed
to birth such vivid hues
I
think I’m getting old at forty-three
with my cool days behind me, or
perhaps my best years really lie ahead

I like to think its the latter.....And I have seen those hair colors myself; they look so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI think our best years are always to come...we just have to make that happen.
ReplyDeleteAnd 43? That is the perfect age....for anything!
Tinsel hair sounds whimsical. Fun quadrille.
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile. You're at the best age of all. In your 40's you have the confidence, the style, the independence to tinsel your hair and do it for the pure pleasure of it!

10 years is a generation gap :)
ReplyDeleteI think you should put color in your hair... it's fun.
ReplyDeleteYou never know what wonders may come.
ReplyDeleteI really like "tinsel" as a verb here.
ReplyDeleteI've considered dying part of my hair a weird color. Like a bright red, pink, or purple. Never did it because I felt a need to look professional, but I've wanted to do this for years.
