if she could only sleep

she wanted to sleep
and dream of orange
crush sunsets or
cerulean blue seas

but only dark shadows
and ghastly figures
came to mind each time
she closed her eyes

insomnia would have
been a better companion
than the darkness that
plagued her nights

  1. True! I used to have nightmares as a child so I did not want to go to bed.

  6. Your use of colour is great - the let down as things get darker. I hope she finds some peace.
