opposite sides of the track

they were from different
sides of the track but they
always say opposites attract
who knew they would become
the new Romeo and Juliet,
an updated West Side Story
a love story older than time
yet still we wonder
how the tale will end

  1. Ain’t that just the way it is Arcadia, we come together and we never know where we will end up. But the mystery is the joy.

  3. Always wondering, Maria. My husband came from the same side of the track, yet we seem to be moving to opposite sides as we get older. Why is that?

  4. I like the questioning at the end. We really don't know how Romeo and Juliet--so young--would have felt about one another if they had lived and spent years together. Or any couple, for that matter.

  8. They do say opposites attract! Let's hope for a better ending than Shakespeare provided.

  9. Indeed.. the different sides of the track is always a barrier, but there are those who manage to cross

  10. A common theme in so many love stories but a good reminder that we can always cross the 'track', and share both sides of it.
