a mother's story

from a tiny baby
she watched her
grow to an adult
she barely knows

perhaps she was too
harsh in her rearing
but she only did
what she thought best

from afar she watches
her hatchling spread
her vast wings, soaring
towards endless clouds

  2. I'm glad she can see the vast-winged beauty that she had a hand in raising up to the sky <3

  3. The story of every parent! So hard to see them go, but know they cannot stay!

  4. Motherhood is a job well done Maria. The tougher you are, the higher they fly ☺️💕

  5. It's nice to remember that spreading the wings also means for someone else letting go. Touching quadrille.

  6. Nice. Even this old, childless (I say 'child-free') geezer really digs this piece.

  8. Thank you everyone. Although I am not a parent, I imagine that this is something many parents experience.
