under iced tree limbs

the tree limbs were covered in ice
under clear blue skies
I put on my gloves and scarf
to play in the fresh snow
that gifted me a day off from school
inside the house my mom makes
hot chocolate to warm my insides

  1. Captures the double delight of no school, snow day! And it helps to know there's hot chocolate waiting inside.

  4. I have always been envious of children playing in the snow, Maria, as I had a traumatic experience with it as a child since then have hated having to go out in it. I love drinking hot chocolate while admiring the snow from indoors.

    1. Sorry to hear that. I started to hate snow when I was an adult and had to drive in it. I'm glad you find something in the poem to like.
