figment

you were a figment of a fantasy
a dream never to become true
a star I could never reach

in the blackness of night
I hear your soft whispers
and feel your gentle touch

I fell in love until the sun
opened my eyes

  5. Ah yes....the one-sided love that never comes to fruition. Happens to many. Especially love those last two lines!

  7. "A figment of a fantasy" .... not even a whole fantasy. Most cool, Arcadia. There something very free and open about your poem and I'm loving it.

  8. Nice. I wonder why the word 'figment' seems to encourage alliteration so much.
