she was the nerdy girl
who didn’t dress in style
he was the popular guy
who all the girls love
of course, he would coax
her from her shell, revealing
her beauty to all, but she was
already a bombshell
before catching his eyes
- Combining two prompts for this poem: dVerse Quadrille #236 (Word: coax) and Writer's Digest 2025 November PAD Day 17 (Trope poem - Romantic trope: different worlds)
Sounds like a plot to an old school romantic film
ReplyDeleteIt certainly does. Thanks for reading.
DeleteYou're right, Arcadia. She didn't need validation from someone popular or from a man. Her beauty was her own. Thoughtful poem and good use of the prompt word.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa.
DeleteDefinitely the scene of high school days...no she didn't need his validation.
ReplyDeleteNo she didn't. Thanks for reading Di.
