xenolith

we sometimes smile
to hide the pain
we bury our secrets
deep into mountains
to never see the light

these feelings form
a xenolith that one carries
until the weight becomes
too great as one slowly sinks
into the deep trenches of the sea

Not fair to be saddled with things that overwhelm! We may have to settle them as they come! Great lines A Maria!

  2. Perhaps the sea will polish us, and we may find our way back up again.

  5. I love how you captured pain and secrets in a ‘xenolith that one carries until the weight becomes too great’, Maria.
