“gossipmongers”
she could hear them
whispering behind her
a gaggle of geese
telling second and third
hand tales, not knowing
what was true or false
she kept her head up high
with a smile on her face
she would never give
those gossipmongers
standing by the doorway
a hint of satisfaction

Yes, never give them that satisfaction ~ I like how you used a gaggle of geese in this poem ~

DeleteThere's nothing worse than a tattle-tale gaggle of geese! A whimsical wealth of words!
ReplyDeleteThat is so true. Thanks for reading Walter

DeleteIf we could just become deaf to the gaggle of the gossipers. Life would be infinitely better then.. Love the metaphor of geese.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed life would be better. Thanks for reading.
DeleteOh, yes. The metaphor of geese works so well here, the harping and honking, the fluttering of useless wings and useless talk. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThank you De.
DeleteGaggling geese and gossipmongers...a perfect analogy. I appreciated the message in your poem. Gossip gets us nowhere.
ReplyDeleteThat is true. It only starts problems. Thanks for reading.
