every
day when I wake up
I
look outside the window
to
see the same clouds above
pouring
out silver tears
it
has been raining for days
and
I can feel the rivers rise
inside
threatening to break
through
the dams
I
try my best to keep
these
feelings within
but
every day it rains
adding
more stress
until
I break down flooding
streets with rushing waves
overtaking
all in my path
just
when the sun returns
I think everyone has experienced this type of rain before, whether literal rain or emotions.
ReplyDeleteI like the feel of this piece--and the hope that comes in at the end--
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling. Better to look ahead.
ReplyDeleteI like the description of "silver tears" from the clouds.
ReplyDeleteSometimes all you need a good downpour.
ReplyDeleteSilver tears....I feel the same way, when all we see is rain day after rain. It can be oppressive and overwhelming. But like Kim says, sometimes all you need is a good downpour. I feel the rain not only nourishes the Earth, but cleans it. Perhaps it does the same to our souls? Lady Nyo
ReplyDeleteSometimes we just need to let it out.. so that we can look ahead and move on. Beautifully penned.
ReplyDeleteI think rain can weigh you down, but in the end there is always a sun coming back... the same with crying

There is a;ways a silver lining that helps it to right itself when things appear worsening!
