running around

I am running around everywhere
at home, at the office and store
to gather up my thoughts
keep myself ahead of the game
I wish I could leave this rat race
behind, to sit in complete silence
by a lake and think about nothing

  1. This is definitely a relatable sentiment. Sitting by a lake and completely relaxing sounds perfect.

  2. Wow, you are a mind reader. Let's gather at the lake.

  3. The beauty of complete silence is thinking of nothing.

  4. ah yes.....I remember the days of the rat race. Rejuvenated now (never say retired...it's rejuvenatement not retirement), I shake my head and wonder how I ever kept up that pace? Do find time to, as they say, smell the roses.

  5. I left the rat race four years ago and am still running around! I sometimes wonder if that is what we're here for, like hamsters (or rats) in wheels, to power the universe!

  6. Even by the lake, it catches up with you. We are never free from worries, but we can dream.

  7. Sometimes I would like to do that... to breathe and then maelstrom back again
