glow

she would glow
like the moon
in a clear night sky
her inner flame
brighter than sun’s
rays in summer
despite naysayers
and mobs who
tried to tear her
limb from limb
she held her head
up high, keeping
her eyes on the prize

  1. I'm reminded of the book title, "A Woman of Substance" - bless her determination.

  3. They don't understand what fuels the inner flame or they wouldn't bother trying to diminish it. Naysayers and mobs are driven by their demons. I like that light described as a "glow like the moon in a clear sky night."
