first date

she sips iced coffee
under a warm sun
waiting for his arrival

it’s been so long
since she had a date
it almost seems foreign
to her in a digital world

his form catches her eyes
she inhales with hope
the stars will align

  5. I like the contrasts, digital versus real world, and the invoking the stars that are so mysterious and unknown.

  6. I love the way your poem evokes anticipation, Maria, and the way it starts with sipping iced coffee and ends with inhaling with hope.

  10. This poem led to a song playing in my mind: "Anticipation" by Carly Simon. Well done. :-)

  11. I hope for both their sakes that they do. Dating isn't what it used to be! Not a user-friendly world for singles who are looking for a soul mate.
