we have so much to say
but cannot find the words
to express what lies
within our hearts
so many ways to speak
but too little time
as my eyes drift
towards setting sun
I try to say the words
before it’s too late
- Written for dVerse Quadrille #231
Your poem beautifully and simply captures that familiar aching, the awareness of dwindling time to say what truly matters💞
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading Ange.
DeleteThis is a familiar feeling, well said.

Thanks De.
DeleteArcadia your poem resonates with me. I think of what is left to say to my sons and think of what hadn't been said between my folks and me.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jade. :)
DeleteSo often the words are hard to find then one finds that time has disappeared.
ReplyDeleteSo true. Thanks for reading.
DeleteA quadrille I’m sure will resonate with many readers, as it does with me, Maria. There are indeed ‘so many ways to speak but too little time’.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kim.
DeleteSo poignant. I agree with others that it resonates. Even those of us who love words sometimes are at a loss.
