when a dream becomes a reality

it was a dream

we never thought

would become reality

it seemed too far fetched

like touching stars

in the night sky

 

yet this dream came

to life – living, breathing

outside our hearts

I no longer close my eyes

when the dream now

lies in front of me

heartbreak

I want to recall

the beauty of your warm eyes

but my heart still breaks

zooming to connect

she wanted to stay connected

to friends she curated in life

so she hosted Zoom parties

to fill in the loneliness of

pandemic isolation

 

she had fun but still missed

the touch of their hands

the warm hugs and the

scent of floral perfume
