zooming to connect

she wanted to stay connected
to friends she curated in life
so she hosted Zoom parties
to fill in the loneliness of
pandemic isolation

she had fun but still missed
the touch of their hands
the warm hugs and the
scent of floral perfume

- This poem is a combination of two prompts that seem similar to me.  dVerse Quadrille #173: Zoom Poems and 2023 April PAD Challenge Day 3:connection poem

  3. I'm so happy these are memories, and not current reality. I remember that isolation well, and yes, so thankful for technology!

  5. I’m only just getting out and about again, and enjoying the warm hugs. I recognise my life in your quadrille, Maria.

Oh yes! I am still working/playing that embrace of contact tenderly. The perfume of another body ...

  8. The floral perfume, yes. Extending the longing to other senses is effective. Touch, obviously. But when you mentioned scent, you noted something I hadn't considered.
