morning kisses

his brilliant smile
was my morning kiss
his baby blue eyes
deep like oceans
overtake my senses
I get lost in kisses
and vivid daydreams 
the hours slip away
until nightfall arrives

-   This is the last post for 2020.  What a year!  I decided to go with a love poem.  Love is something we all can use more of these days.   Wishing everyone a peaceful and prosperous 2021.

night sky in December

stars light up the sky
winter moon serenades us
new year approaches

fire within

she seeks adventures
across lilac skies
and cobalt seas
she needs to escape
this merry-go-round
that is draining
her slowly inside
airplanes glide
above clouds
igniting within
a bonfire
soon she will be
back on the trail
seeking journeys
to lands beyond
the horizon

live and love

we live and love
a fight each day
we ask time to stay
but she runs instead

exit door

it seems every year
I’m introduced to a new coworker - 

this revolving door is getting dizzy
 
I’m still here after four years
I abide by the rules
keeping me employed
 
yet every chapter has an ending
one day I’ll walk through
that exit door

she loved the stars

she loved the stars
how they twinkle
in the autumn sky
serenading her with
their silver lights
 
what she didn’t love
was how they faded
in the dawn sky
leaving her in silence
under a rising sun

it is possible?

it is possible to see
the end of this storm
that has darkened our skies
 
many hold onto hope
that sunlight will return
to our faces
 
but it seems that black 

clouds keep rolling in
 
I am holding on but 

my grip is slipping
