Poem for today:

“spending times before mirrors”

I spend many hours before mirrors

trying to perfect this face

that I find so many flaws –

more than beauty points

I wish daily for thinner thighs

perhaps throw in six-pack abs

to mirror those images plastered

all over TV and magazines

but soon I and others will learn

that no matter how hard we try

to keep up our chiseled faces

in time it will all fade away
