with hope

with hope
I released you
into the wind
with prayers that
you would find
your way back
to my arms
every night
I sang to the moon
counting the years
that have passed
yet you have
not returned
maybe I should
just give up

  7. I think sometimes hope is hopeless actually... maybe we should renew the hope for something (or someone) else.

  8. You can't give up after singing to the moon! There are rules against that!

I like that the speaker seems to be riding the precipice between hope and despair, which is always a precarious place to navigate.

  9. Sometimes we can only hope for what is best....but singing to the moon, that is magical.
