giving up (or not)

I did not think it
would be this hard
I was ready to
throw my arms up
and just walk away
let the puzzle pieces
fall in whatever place
but my heart was too
invested to just let go
so I keep pushing on

  3. This is a feeling I know well. My husband and I spent a total of one week together in person before we moved in together. No dates, plenty of phone calls and emails, but 1600 miles between us. So many times I wanted to give up, but somehow I couldn't. And so glad I didn't! There's a time to give up, and a time not to... Great piece and well written. <3

  4. I know this well too. Sometimes it is just hard to let go after a lot of emotional investment.

  10. I like the switch from past to present in the final line. It brings the poem to a point.
