I
had plans to travel
across
the world’s map
but
a pandemic threw a
curveball in that itinerary
now
I’m trying to recapture
that
wanderlust for travel
but
I’m finding it is not
easy
pulling my feet out
of
the mud to roam free
- Written for Quadrille #175 - Mapping Out Our Poems. Even when you're a bit tired from writing everyday last month, we continue to poem.
Ah yes there are those of us with feet in the mud still.
ReplyDeleteNice one Arcadia
Much💖love
Awww. This makes my heart ache. I am full of wanderlust, always. I hope you find it again.
ReplyDeleteWhen the rain gets warm, step out of it and let it wash the mud away. Hoping you get a chance to see one destination this year :)
ReplyDeleteYes not so easy after all. But hoping you get to travel anyway.
ReplyDeleteYour quadrille resonates with me, Maria. So many of us are finding it hard to pull our feet out of the mud. I will visit my daughter and sister again this year - no flights for me.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel able to wander again! It's taken us awhile to even feel comfortable going to places locally.
ReplyDeleteHaha. I did this even before the pandemic and will continue to do so.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone. :)
ReplyDeleteIndeed... I think we are many who have rooted ourselves.
ReplyDeleteI love the direction you chose ......
ReplyDeleteRelatable and well-said!🙏
ReplyDeleteYes, I know the feeling. Some people couldn't wait to get going again, but I seem to have remained somewhat shut down.
ReplyDeleteThank you again everyone.
