she met him in the library while
reading Interview with the Vampire
she would find it ironic later
when he glamoured her
with his charming smile
draining the light out of her
before she took back her life
plunging a stake into his heart
- Written for dVerse Quadrille#208 - Undead to the World
I think many have come across them unawares. Glad she took back her life <3
ReplyDeleteI'm sure many of us have. Thanks for reading.
Delete"He glamoured her" --- Love that inspired phrasing with all its connotations including that "amour" embedded if not etymologically, then visually! That she met him in the library reading of a vampire, sets her up nicely for a fall, and him for his downfall and you made it all come together nicely in just 44! Well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Dora.

Thank you Gillena.
DeleteA charming fellow, yet their interaction leads to requiring drastic action in order for her to regain control - I definitely see parallels with women who get into abusive relationship and need to swiftly and firmly end them.
