Poem for the evening:

“career twist”

when I was nine
I wanted to be a nurse
like the grandmother
I never knew
but something happened
along the way
a twist of fate placed me
on another career path
I now look around asking
myself how did I end up here?

  4. Isn't it weird how we can look back and wonder what happened to those dreams. Life is full of twists.

  9. Ah yes --- the many twists and turns of life. Nobody ever grows up saying I want to be the dean of an MBA program :) Some careers just happen! :)

  10. Oh, yes, I know the feeling well. What I don't know is anyone who grew up to fulfill their 9-year-old fantasy. You dream, and then life happens. I enjoyed this.
