Poem for this evening:
sevenling: the door
standing before the door
wondering, second-guessing,
contemplating
to enter the unknown
feeling anxiety, despair
mixed with sadness
I stand here indecisive
Yes, that pause before the door, to open or not ~ Indecisive is where we are ~ Love the sevenling ~
ReplyDeleteLovely sevenling..!!
ReplyDeleteLove the sevenling form! Yes -- that indecisiveness, that space, that empty place where decisions wait to enter in. And we must choose. Sometimes the waiting itself, the anticipation, is the most difficult. The entrance/exit becomes the steps we take to move on. Great take on the prompt.
ReplyDeleteLove your use of the sevenling form here! :)
ReplyDeleteThe questions that are posed in front of a door... well done.
ReplyDeleteindecision...yes, that's it
ReplyDeleteYour precise poem emphasises beautifully the human condition of fear we encounter at each change in our lives.
ReplyDeleteThe anticipation on whether or not we should open the life's doors... point well made!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you used the sevenling--a reminder to me when I need a creative nudge. Life is so full of those doors.
ReplyDeleteI need to brush up on my poetry forms! Loved this.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone :)
ReplyDeleteNice capture of that apprehension -- fear of the unknown -- and sevenling, a good choice. :)
