exhaustion
these bones are tired
this soul exhausted
a heart weakening
I ran a thousand miles
the car still stalled
it meant nothing
the moon is weeping
stars collect tears
is this my ending?
the sun rises again
I keep on walking
nothing more I can do

what I lost and found
I lost
a piece of joy
when the sun set
as you said goodbye
then
I found
my way back
to that missing bliss
as the sun rose again

I loved you all my years
I loved you all my years
I thought I made it clear
but you chose another
and now my heart suffers
and despite all my tears
I’m left with my fears
that there is no other
that will bring me wonder

when the mind won't rest
the sane part of her mind
told her to not fret
over the small details –
everything will fall into place
but her sawmill mind gave
her no peace, going over lines
again and again until her patience
was as thin as late winter ice

questions
will you mark
my heart with
your scent
imprint your kiss
upon my lips
will you push me
to the edge
without letting
me fall down
love me for
my perfections
and all my flaws
across blue seas
I look for your
answers patiently

far away
I was trying to find my way
back to you or at least back
to something slightly familiar
when far away an interrupted cry
distracted me from making
the same mistakes twice
so I followed that far away
sound and have had no regrets
- Inspired by the line "When far away an interrupted cry" from the poem
Acquainted with the Night
by Robert Frost.

his name
his name could bring
a plethora of emotions
to my heart and
melodies to my feet
if only he knew what
sway he had over me
perhaps he would have
taken a chance
to shoot his shot
but we were both
too shy and unable
to name this thing
that stood between us

movie date
she thought it would be
a romantic movie date
but it seemed they
chose the wrong film
she was befuddled
he too enthralled with
dragons, dwarves, hobbits
and elves to notice
but she had to admit
the story was in some
ways quite entertaining
- Written for
dVerse Quadrille #81 - Here there be (poem) dragons
Author's Note: This poem is in no way autobiographical. I purposely saw "The Hobbit" trilogy movies (The first movie on DVD and movies 2 and 3 in the theater) and enjoyed them.
