a last gasp

I hear the birds chirping
and flowers trying to
burst through the ground
people ready to shred
their heavy coats to enjoy
the warm sunshine

from the shadowy corner
winter makes her last gasp
sending chilly air before
she must pass over her crown

  1. Well, I cannot wait for winter's last gasp. Winter needs to pass over her crown to spring.

  10. I think winter has lost it for at least the next nine months. Great piece. :-)

  11. I love that last line, especially. The passing of the season's crown...
