sevenling: fear

what used to bring fear to me:
the dark, monsters under the
bed and dogs.

it took a long time to get over
heights, highway driving
and trying new things.

but I still fear spending my life alone.

  1. I like how you listed down your fears, from childhood, to your adulthood. And spending one's life alone is a real fear that all of us face. A lovely sevenling Arcadia.

  3. Yes, I think our dark monsters simply change as we get older. The last line is very effective...a little jab to the heart.

  7. Great progression. There are those fears that we outgrow, but some that stay with us forever

  11. I am afraid of them all, too, but especially of heights. The other day, I climbed a set of stone steps that led to the top of a tall hill. I was swooning when I got to the middle and was afraid I would just topple backwards. I was panicky by the time I reached the top.
