gift

you were the gift
that kept on giving
I become complacent
thinking you would
always be there
until you were gone
I realized how much
you meant to me
and Now I wish
I had told you then
instead of holding
the words within

Sometimes we could kick ourselves for what we don't say in a relationship for whatever reason...usually fear I suppose. Love this quadrille, Arcadia Maria.

    1. My poem linked for tonight is 'Gift' as well :) You have such a knack for putting relational nuggets into a short poem

  4. So sorry, unexpected visitors last night have made me rather late in responding to your piece. But you say it all so neatly here - we've all been there...
