there is a storm
brewing inside her
she can hardly
contained it
it threatens to
overflow her veins
and spill out her
eyes and heart
as blood tears
when she sees how far
the world has fallen
into dark chaos
and shadows of hate
- Written for dVerse Quadrille #34 "storm"
Wow. This is so visceral, Arcadia. Well done.
ReplyDeleteWhat is outside oneself can build up a storm within.
ReplyDeleteYeah, so much hate and craziness. The sadness of it all is well reflected in your verse.
ReplyDeleteThis is how the outside world impacts. And storm brews within. Nice.
ReplyDeleteSo many manifestations of hate at least.. I'm still quite hopeful that hate will not spread.
ReplyDeleteyou kept the tension so well in these terse lines of feeling
ReplyDeleteBest not to bottle up that storm within. Distilling it in a poem is by far the best thing to do.
ReplyDeleteI feel those outside forces too, Arcadia, and the storm brewing. Our present political and cultural climate is explosive, and you expressed it so well.
ReplyDeleteHeadlines assaulting us every day. I am trying very hard to "unplug" from the barrage of news and concentrate on the good in this world.
ReplyDeleteThe senseless violence in the world disturbs our inner peace...powerful emotion expressed! (did you mean "contain"?)
ReplyDeleteThis is so incredibly visceral!
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone.
ReplyDeleteOh dear -- what shall burst forth? LOL
