where
you are
where
I wish
I
could be
keeps
us separated
on
opposite paths
one could cross
rivers
without cares
in
the air
waiting
to pounce
our
hellos exchanged
from
far away
where
I dream
to
be eventually

circle
round and round
a circle we go
in a dance
waiting to see
who will make
the first move
maybe we should
stop this game
of merry-go-round
before we both
get lost in circles
and miss our call

far-flung star
a
far-flung star
you
were to me
twinkling
in sky
out
of my reach
I
gave you the moon
to
ensnare your heart
gladly
given more
to
be your star
instead
you stayed
just
a mere fantasy
and
never to return
my kisses and pleas- Inspired by Poetic Aside Poetry Prompt#516-star poem and posted for dVerse OLN

autumn
autumn came
just when I was
getting used to
summer’s breeze
she stole my
evergreen view
and turned it to
brown and gold
when I adjusted
to her crisp air
she departed like
a broken whisper
as winter came
with icy blue eyes
and claimed her
throne once again

rumor
rumor has it
that you stole
my heart
when you gave
me the moon
and stars
rumor has it
I’m in love
head over heels
and I must say
this time
they are right

we speak our own language
we speak our own language
with words, moving hands
and various facial expressions
language is not always verbal
and you have taught me this
that one can speak paragraphs
with little spoken words

magic
your
magic kisses
can
make the sun rise each day
and
deep oceans weep
when
you look at me
I
swear my heart stops beating
barely
catching my breath
I
gather the stars
and
I place them in your crown
making
you my king

as she washed dishes
as she
washed dishes
she
absentmindedly listened
to
the news – always bad –
so
she tries to stay focus
on
removing leftover crumbs
from
dishes and not listen
to
the reality of life
once
while washing dishes
she let
her mind wander
to
the thought of him
and
his touch – wondering
what
went wrong and why
he doesn’t
call anymore
no, she
told herself
instead
listen to the bad news
on
the television instead of
allowing
her mind to linger
on
love gone lost
as
she washed dishes
she
tried to scrub away
the mundaneness
of life away
to
reveal its cleanliness
and
renewed hope for
something
better

it's four o'clock in the morning
it’s
four o’clock
in
the morning
and I
lie in bed
counting
sheep
it’s
four o’clock
in
the morning
and
my mind
will
not be at ease
it’s
four o’clock
in
the morning
and I
have lost
time
to dream
it’s
four o’clock
in
the morning
I wish
the clock
could
fall back in time

heart
I use
to wear my heart
on my
sleeve
believing
cupid’s arrow
would
strike my true love
then
there was that summer
I laid
eyes upon you
and
my heart bloomed
with
undying love
now
my heart is stone
broken
too many times
by
those who played
by
different rules

another day of waiting
another
day of waiting
to
hear if the world
will
come crashing down
or
will the sun have
mercy
on you
another
day of waiting
to
ponder all the
what-if
scenarios
that
play in your head
and
causes you to lose
much
sleep
another
day of waiting
for results that have one
on the edge of their seat
on bated breath, just
waiting and waiting
on the edge of their seat
on bated breath, just
waiting and waiting

supernova
I
wanted a love full of passion
that
would burst through
milky
way skies
a
love to last a thousand years
like
heavenly stars
love
is like the stars
it
has it’s alpha and omega
eventually
love will burst
like
a supernova before
fading
to dust

little did I know
little
did I know
that
there be days
when
I would be
ready
to jump into
the
river – in the
dead
of winter
little
did I know
how
alone I would
feel
among the
crowded
city streets
thinking life is
passing
me by
little
did I know
there
would be others
who
feel the same
who
I long to reach out
but
spaces between us
forbid such intimacy

forever waiting
forever
was how long it seemed
that I waited for you
to sweep me off my feet
and into that grand
fairytale castle on the hill
forever
was how long I waited
from sunrises to sunsets
still believing that day
would come when dreams
would become realities
but forever
lasted too long for me
I lost all hope especially
when I removed rose colored
glasses and saw you for
the man you truly were

cologne
it was the aroma of
sandalwood cologne
that pulled me
as he hooked his
claws into my skin
my insides burned
with the thought
of his touch
and I knew then
I was in too deep
but a part of me
did not mind

dancing palms

like they were dancing

as good as dead
I was as good as dead
when he walked into the room that night
he took the breath out of my lungs
and all good reason escaped my brain
he was the light to my yearning flame
and the guiding star to my doom
